Int’l Fatwa Conference Opens in Egypt

IQNA – The 9th edition of the international Fatwa conference got underway in the Egyptian capital of Cairo on Monday, July 29.

The General Secretariat for Fatwa Offices Worldwide has organized the event, Youm7 website reported. 

Grand Muftis, Awqaf ministers and scholars from more than 100 countries are taking part in the two-day event.

Fatwa (religious edict) and promotion of ethics in the world is the main theme of the conference, according to Ibrahim Najm, an advisor to the grand Mufti of Egypt.

He said a workshop on formulating an ethics charter based on Fatwa based on the developments in empirical, natural and social sciences and AI will be held during the conference.

There will also be two forums on ‘Fatwa and world fact,… ideas and principles’, and ‘Fatwa and confronting obstacles and moral challenges, he went on to say.
